Wednesday 5th April 2017 Hand-tie a bouquet of Spring flowers. Have you ever been given a bunch of flowers and had no idea what to do with them? On this two hour course, Vanessa will help you select your flowers before showing you how to hand-tie into a professional looking spiral design.

Wednesday 12th April 2017 Create a Spring basket arrangement. Using a wicker basket as a base, you’ll create a fantastic gift to decorate your home with, or give to a friend. Vanessa will show you how to work with oasis and provide you with options spanning the whole range of spring flowers in order to create your masterpiece.

Wednesday 19th April 2017 Create a contemporary arrangement. Using a minimal number of flowers, Vanessa will give you all the tools you need to push the boundaries of your imagination. You’ll be able to take your arrangement home with you, including the vase or pot.
Twenty years ago, Vanessa decided to turn her back on the world of accountancy and pursue her lifelong passion – floristry. Training just outside Dorchester, at Kingston Maurward College, she learned how to arrange flowers, match colours and prepare bouquets for grateful customers. Vanessa took over The Poundbury Florist in 2016, and now spends her time creating beautiful bouquets for local residents, passing on some on her knowledge whenever she finds the time.

Where does it take place?

Vanessa runs courses from her shop, The Poundbury Florist in Poundbury, Dorchester.

How long are the lessons?

2 hours.
6-8pm on Wednesdays.

What should I bring?

No need to bring any special equipment.

How many people per class?

Six people maximum.

Anything else I should know?

It's not essential to book onto all three course dates, but it'll give you the best chance of gaining a full understanding. Plus, you'll have three fantastic bouquets to take home with you!
