  • What you'll learn

  • Meet Your Teacher

  • Is it any good?

  • Suzette will guide you through the basic techniques of working with pottery, from slab building to coiling and throwing on a potter’s wheel. In keeping with Suzette’s specialism, you’ll focus on making at least one useful, everyday item such as a jug, mug or bowl, which you'll be able to take home after it has been fired in Suzette's kiln (this may take a week or two). Choose your own design, or take inspiration from the beautiful items on display in Suzette's workshop.
  • Suzette knight decided to specialise in ceramics during her foundation course in art and design, and chose to pursue it with a BA and MA in Ceramic Design. After graduating in 2001, she took a job sculpting prosthetic limbs while keeping her passion for ceramics alive in her spare time. Now, Suzette runs her own studio in Southbourne, creating beautiful practical pieces and supplying one of the best restaurants in town with bespoke tableware.
