  • What You’ll Learn

  • Meet Your Teacher

  • Is it any good?

  • If you don’t know the meaning of ‘squeaky bum time’, now’s the time to learn! Take your first steps into the pottery world by making your own succulent pot from scratch, using delicate paper clay. Choose an oxide to produce your desired colour and learn how to wedge, mould and pinch your clay to give professional results. The course fee includes all materials and firing – all you'll need to provide is a beautiful succulent to top it all off.
  • Gemma moved to Poole eight years and decided to tap into the town’s rich pottery heritage by taking an evening course in ceramics. She quickly found she had a knack for it, and became obsessed (by her own admission) within just a few weeks. Despite studying for a degree in filmmaking, she found more satisfaction in working with her hands and decided to ditch electronics and complex camera equipment in favour of clay and a potter’s wheel. The highlight of her pottery career came last year when she was invited to run workshops at The Good Life Experience festival in Wales, and she loves nothing more than showing newbies the ropes from her cosy studio in Boscombe.
