  • What you'll learn

  • Meet your teacher

  • Is it any good?

  • Learn how to make one of Alice's large signature Teasel lampshades over the course of a weekend, or a smaller variation of the same theme in just one day. After a tour of Alice’s workspace, including the forest where she collects the wood used in her furniture, she'll guide you through the process step by step. Start by selecting your materials before laminating, shaping the petals and fixing it all together. If you sign up to the one day course, you’ll make a smaller lamp but receive close instruction on how to use the tools. The two day course will result in a larger lamp, but requires at least a basic understanding of how to use power tools. Either way, you’ll end up with a lampshade that’ll be the envy of anyone who sees it, with the added bonus of having made it yourself.
  • Three weeks sat behind a desk in London was enough for Alice Blogg, who craved the fresh air and rolling fields of her home county, Dorset. Once back in the countryside, Alice offered to work for free at a local joiners, sweeping the floors. It didn't take long for her bosses to notice the woodworking talents she'd inherited from her father and grandfather before that, and they let her help out on a few pieces. Eventually Alice had developed the skills she needed to start accepting her own commissions, and hasn’t looked back since. Alice’s work has been featured in Country Homes and Interiors, Hole and Corner, and Home Beautiful magazines, but she hasn't let it go to her head. Alice is just about one of the friendliest people you could ever hope to meet, and always happy to share her secrets with newbies.
